Travelin', Cookin' & Bakin'

I just got back from a fun vacation in Los Cabos last weekend! I went to an all inclusive resort with my besties Sarah and Nicole. We had SUCH an amazing time. We were nicknamed the party girls by the hotel staff there. It was so funny. Our flights were short and sweet, and everything went very smoothly. Here's a pic of us on a little boat tour near the arch in Cabo and another pic of us at Lover's Beach. Now that I am back in the states, I am in full fledge Christmas-prep mode! I started cooking a lot again (now that I can stomach most smells) and even baked a mixed berry pie today. I included a lot of photos in this post because there was so much to talk about! To start, I was craving pie. I really wanted a blueberry pie (or maybe A and B really wanted blueberry pie) but the blueberries weren't on sale at the market. They were each $4 and I needed about 3 containers. I couldn't even think about spending $12 on blueberries alone, a...

Another Year in the Books :)

July is probably my favorite month now.  When I was little, I much preferred January, my birthday month, but I just love July.  Not only is the New England weather perfect for the beach and outdoor activities, but it is also my anniversary month, and the time we all spend the most time together in Cape Cod for Fourth of July festivities. As I mentioned in my last blog, we headed back to the east coast for my friend Julie's wedding on 6/29/2013.  The timing was perfect and we were able to stay the following week in the Cape for the Fourth of July.  This year marked our 7th Annual Fourth of July party...so of course, I made t-shirts.   The Fourth is by far our favorite week of the year, here is just a preview of what a fun week it is! I was then able to spend the next weekend down the Cape with my Mom, too.  My cousin Jodie visited with her three kids, Jason, Kelsie and Kayla (below).  We had an absolute blast at Keyes Beach ...

Changes are Happening

June held some considerable changes this year...some of them challenging, but certainly hopeful and for the best.  Some of our best friends in LA moved to Cincinnati to pursue new careers and be closer to family. And towards the end of the month, one of my best friends got married back in Boston.  I was very honored to be a part of their wedding day. To start, Kiley and Ryan are some of our best friends.  We met them one day moving in to our condo complex in Marina del Rey and they lived a few doors down.  We initially became friends because I was quite jealous of their interior decorating ability.  Our place had hand-me-down furniture and boxes everywhere, and their place was simply stunning.  We hung out a few times and then we became really close.  Kiley was pregnant with their first baby, Leiya and then they had Colton almost two years later.  Those two little kiddos are some of the greatest kids.  And I miss them all so much!...

I Left My Heart in SF

Image
For my February 2013 post, my theme is inadvertently hearts and love which is perfect ... In early Feb, Jimbo and I did our first 5K together called the "Love Mud Run" in California.  It was the weekend of Valentine's Day in the wine country area of Temecula, CA.  We are by no means 'runners' but it was super fun to run through a wine vineyard, up massive dirt hills all with about 10 gallons of mud in our sneaks.  The best part of the race was the wine tasting post-race at Callaway Vineyards. We ended up staying the weekend and met up with Jim's Aunt and Uncle from New Hampshire.     A week or two later, we spent the weekend up in SF for Jim's Moot Court competition at the Federal Courthouse (backstory: Jimbo is currently finishing up his last semester at Loyola Law School in LA).  We took the ferry over to Sausalito which was a quaint and adorable area of CA I never knew existed ( http://www.sausalito.com/ ).  Shou...
