Shaz by the Sea

The stomach bug hit the Phelan family HARD this last week - it was brutal.  Well really only Caden, Conor, and Mom got the bug. Somehow Cal and Dad pulled through unscathed, thankfully. Just hours prior to the whole puking process, we decided it would be great for Cal to join his brothers in their room. Cal has really made it a point to show me he's wanted to be with them when he goes to bed. Each night, he gets up and wanders into his brothers room. So, we decided to throw a boxspring down and with his little crib mattress on top, as shown below. He seemed to really like this! Then we ordered a twin mattress which was a huge hit...  Mom was photographing from her death bed. I was literally OUT of commission so huge props to Jimbo and my mom for handling this week. Cal graduated to a twin mattress!  However he fell out like 3 times before 8pm that first night. So we eliminated the boxspring. It's been a while since I have done a big photo dump from my phone -- and I figured, what better day to do that than a snow day! There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to any of these pictures, other than they simply made me happy. :) I mean, how can you not immediately smile when you look at this bum comparison photo? I think the one on the left is when they were 8 months or so? I can't even remember. And the one on the right is the boys at 20 months...so let's just say they about a year apart! Caden on the left in both. Ha. Conor has been obsessed with carrying a blanket (or two) with him wherever he goes. New booster seats! Growing up so fast. We took the boys to the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers when they went to Skyzone. While we were there, they discovered these cars. It was the BEST day of their lives. They loved all of them so much. I love Monday nights. It tends to be the night where I hang with my Dad. My mom works late on Mondays......

When we first heard about the weather this weekend, I was SO excited!! Then I heard we were only getting a few inches. Sure, the boys experienced some snow in DC, but I'm ready for them to experience a Massachusetts winter. So far, they have been loving the snow. I know we haven't had very much of it --- and they haven't really played outside in it, but they love watching it fall from the sky. They hold out their little hands and try to catch the snowflakes. It's so sweet. Here's Caden and Conor watching Jimmy shovel the driveway. He also used his snowblower, which they couldn't take their eyes off of...they stood here for like 15 minutes watching him. That's how I was able to back up and take the pic from further away. ;) Jim's Mom ("Nana") bought the boys these winter coats.
