Fall Toddler Meal Inspirations

Image
I don’t know about you, but I was falling into a serious chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, and pizza rut. The boys haven’t had veggie pouches since they were little, and they tend to only have the yogurt pouches now. Needless to say, they haven’t had many vegetables at home besides maybe corn and carrots.  Thankfully they eat healthy at school with their snacks. For example, they have peppers and carrots and other vegetables with different sauces and dressings. However, I tend to make them quick and easy meals when I get home from work like peanut butter sandwiches since they can’t have peanut butter at school.  Tonight, I decided to pull it out of the fridge and incorporate it into my usual homemade pancake recipe. To make the squash, I just  warm it up, cut it in half, sprinkle a little cinnamon on it and put it  face down on a baking sheet in the oven. It makes the house smell so nice.  I usually keep it in the fridge and it can accompany any meal very ...

Painting and Pizza Making!

Image
Since it's snowing, I needed to come up with a few creative projects for Caden and Conor this morning. Well first, when they went downstairs after they woke up, they ran right over to their new chairs and sat in them...and then traded and tried out the other chair - at the exact same time. It was so funny. After we had some fruit for [first] breakfast, we stayed in our PJs and did some crafts. I just bought the boys the "paint with water" books - with the hope it would all be a little less messy. I was right; but they definitely were more interested in the water than the actual painting. It's OK. It bought me some time to prep our second project...homemade pizzas for lunch! I then set up the pizza dough, sauce, cheese, and other toppings. I sauteed some peppers and onions  - and also made a caprese salad for myself to going along side my veggie pizza. I got the pizzas ready for the boys to add the cheese! When I showed them how to...

Photo Dump! November 2015

I was reading a fellow mom-blog and saw that each week or two, she does a "photo dump" from her phone. Most of the time I'm with C and C, I have my phone with me and snap away as much as possible. We, moms, don't want to miss a thing! And often, I don't post the pictures I take. So I am going to try and do a weekly photo dump so I can keep better track of our day to day and the boys new experiences. So here's our first phone photo dump. Conor and Caden love playing with remote controls. Conor is usually more interested in them (because Caden LOVES his cars), but Caden is holding the remote in the pic. Here's a cute mama/bottle snuggle after work one day. I thought I would have the boys off their bottles by the time they were a year and a half (they turned 1.5 on Friday, 11/6!), but Caden really loves it and I figure he especially could use the calcium and calories. So of course when I give Caden his bottle, Conor wants his. But typically Conor does...
