A Summer to Remember

I had such a memorable summer. As I mentioned in my previous post, there was a lot going on. I was SO fortunate to spend a lot of time with my boys - and we went down to Cape Cod as much as possible. This is a long overdue "goodbye summer" post - but better late than never.

This year, we tried something new and decided to drive Jim's truck onto Sandy Neck Beach in Barnstable County. We have the beach sticker for the beach already, but we had to get an additional sticker in order to drive on - in addition to the sticker, we needed a few essentials like a tire gauge, a 3/4 in piece of wood, chains, a shovel, and a few other things. It made life so much easier having the truck ON the beach and not having to walk to a parking lot to get things for the kids. The first day we went there, we brought a smokey Joe to the beach and had a little BBQ. It was so much fun and I loved doing something new down in the Cape.

Sometimes I forget Cal is [now] only 3.  At this time, he was 2 and he fell asleep on me. That is SO rare.

It began to sprinkle a bit - the boys looked like such Californians putting their boogie boards on their heads to protect themselves from the rain.

Twinning! Conor left and Caden right!

I am seriously the luckiest human ever.

The boys with their best friend Tori is 2017 and again in 2019 - how adorable.

Boschs and Phelans for popsicles!

We have an annual get together/sleepover where we make an awesome Cape Cod/seafood dinner and enjoy some wine/relaxation while the the kiddos sleep upstairs. Last year and this year's dishes were quite similar - I made a mussels/shrimp sauteed in a spicy red sauce with goat cheese and delicious bread with olive oil. Literally nothing makes me happier.

The following morning, we indulged on shakshuka and MORE bread - my favorite!

We had so much fun at Sandyneck during the week that we decided to go back again on Friday! It was a great time - our new favorite.

Shout out to my cousin Jessie for the AWESOME night out at the Cape Cod Melody Tent to see Brett Eldredge on 8/9. We had such a fun Callahan night out!

Jessie gave me this "BRAVE" bracelet for my surgery. Thanks, Jess - that was so sweet of you! :)

We also had so much fun on Uncle Paul's boat this summer.  We hung out at Kalmus Beach in Hyannis and we also we out on Wequaquet Lake which was so fun.

One of my BEST friends and fellow legends from LA came and visited us in the Cape. It was so amazing to see her and her gorgeous ROCK. She just got engaged!! Congrats Nicole!! I am so so so so happy for you. xo

My Dad even popped down to the Cape for a quick visit - we went to Wimpy's for dinner!

All for now!

Shaz
