Cal Update and Our Lives Lately...

Happy FRIDAY before a long weekend!!  Wooooo! Now that Cal is 7 weeks old, I wanted to write an update on our schedule - an update from this post which I wrote out my scheduling goal and where I wanted to be around this time.  Here is where we are at...h e is really doing great and I couldn't be happier. 7AM   Feed Cal 4-5oz and give C and C breakfast. 7:45    Diaper changes for all boys, playtime, and bring twins to daycare. 9:15    Cal 1st nap. 11:30  Wake Cal and feed 4-5oz. 12:00  Mom feeds C and C lunch (if/when they're home). 1PM  Cal 2nd nap. 3:00   Mom prepares dinner for C and C. 3:30   Feed Cal 4-5oz. 5:15   Cal shorter nap for less than 1 hour before bath and bedtime, boys eat dinner. 6:00   Feed Cal 3-4oz - cluster feeds begin. 7:00   Bath, PJs, books, and bedtime routine with C, C, and C. 7:30   Conor and Caden in bed, Shaz and Jim eat dinner, Cal hanging out, then quick catnap. 8-9P...

A day in the life of Caden and Conor.... We wake around 6am, eat "first breakfast", play until 9am, then eat "second breakfast", play outside til about noon. We then either eat lunch or take a nap (those usually flip flop). We then wake from our nap, have a little snack, and play til dinner around 5pm. We do bath and bedtime routine starting around 6:30pm and bedtime at 7pm! The day often goes by really quickly - especially when we pick them up from school, we only have about two hours until they go to sleep. They enjoy their schedule and look forward to what comes next - especially when it's time to go upstairs to their room. They love climbing stairs and  playing in their room. We still drink bottles. They only have them when it's time to relax and take a nap, or about an hour before bedtime. I feel it begins the relaxing bedtime routine and I love they are getting that much calcium. Time DON'T slow down....(yes, you read that right)

The inspiration for this post came from an article by "Boston Moms Blog". I read it and immediately could relate. People are always telling time to "slow down" in regards to their kids growing up. Or, people always say their children grew up in a blink of an eye. They can't believe how quickly it went. And yes, while there are many days that I would love to just stop time (like the Fourth of July trip and the boys playing on the beach), there were a lot of days that I wanted time to hurry up because I felt like I was sinking fast (like when the boys were weeks old and Caden was colic). The Boston Moms Blog post made an impression on me when they said, "We have good days and we have bad days. Luckily, the clock keeps ticking either way."   Conor and Caden turned fourteen months old on July 6th and I realized they are indeed growing very fast. They are learning, advancing, and playing more and more together every sing...
